To me, packaging is integral to the user experience, a critical touchpoint that has to validate what a product is about. My work on the Philips Hue Starter Kit at Flex Design serves as an example of this philosophy.
Developed for a global release in Apple Stores, this award-winning concept utilized an interactive color wheel to create a powerful analog between the digital nature of changing the color of the lamps and the playfulness of that reality. From day one you could see people interacting with the packaging and inviting others to try the same, cementing Hue lights as a category innovator and leader.
